Lou Beckett is a playwright recognised for plays that often blend historical themes with contemporary relevance. Notable plays include ‘Bletchley Girls,’ which is based on the true story of women codebreakers during World War II. The stage play was adapted into a popular three-part audio play when the touring production was cancelled due to Covid. Lou’s play, ‘Rotten Luck’, was awarded an Arts Council grant following a competition that provided three plays with production funding. Beckett’s plays frequently explore themes of resilience and empowerment, as seen in ‘A Rose by Any Other Name,’ which has recently had a successful five-part Southwest tour.
