In 2009, West Virginia’s basketball team started its journey toward a national championship. In every huddle, they’d break by shouting “national champs!” This team was built with grit – exactly what you’d expect from head coach Bob Huggins. The team was led by senior forward Da’Sean Butler and a team filled with length and athleticism. Welcome to TEN YEARS LATER – A LOOK BACK AT THE 2010 WVU MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM. You’ll hear from the players and coaches that went on the incredible journey and made a state proud. This podcast was produced by The Final Fourcast Podcast, a weekly podcast featuring WVU basketball players John Flowers, Kevin Jones, Da’Sean Butler, and their friend Ashley. The podcast is available on all major platforms and at http://thefinalfourcast.com. In episode five of this six-part series hosted by Geoff Coyle, the Mountaineers faced Duke for a spot in the national championship game. However, a devastating injury to star player Da’Sean Butler and an impressive performance by the Blue Devils ended WVU’s NCAA tournament run, which is still one of the program’s greatest-ever performances.
