Laayoune El Kouchi, an Imam and preacher par excellence of Moroccan origin, set foot into this world in Safi in 1967. Having accomplished the art of Quran Hifdh at the tender age of 9, Sheikh Laayoune El Kouchi was a revelation of sorts with the silken texture of his voice and his soulful psalmodies. At present, Sheikh Laayoun El Kouchi is designated as an Imam at the mosque of Al Andalus in Anansi, Morocco.
