The Forgotten Rules of Prayer

The Forgotten Rules of Prayer

by

At a little church in a small town called Mulga, Alabama, the power of prayer is revealed as the church’s pastor (Reverend Hicks) uses stories from his life and the small town to paint a clear picture of the workings of God. The basis on which God chooses to answer our prayers is a question that man simply cannot answer. However, by searching through the Bible and uncovering God’s instructions for prayer, we can maximize the likelihood that our prayers will be answered in the future. The exact manner in which prayer works is a secret, and that secret has not yet been revealed to us on earth. According to Deuteronomy 29:29, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” In light of Deuteronomy 29:29, Reverend Hicks uses the Forgotten Rules of Prayer book, which combines all of the cherished “revealed” rules on prayer and presents them in a format that can be passed down, as was intended, from generation to generation. The Forgotten Rules of Prayer book has been published by (i) Send the Light (which was the largest Christian distributor of Christian resources in the world); (ii) Authentic Media (a partner of the International Bible Society and owner of the NIV Bible, Appalachian Distributors, and Operation Mobilization); and (iii) InterVarsity Press. Thousands of copies have been sold. “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 Each episode includes a Study Guide.
