The story of a Jehovah’s Witness who left the religion. The events leading up to my awakening and the aftermath. In this podcast I will tell about my experiences growing up in a high control religion, my doubts at an early age that it was not true, and the struggles and conflict that this caused not only to myself internally but with my family , during my time in the Watchtower organisation and long afterwards , where the programming and core beliefs that were given to me and many other children born into a cult have had a sustained and sometimes catastrophic influence on my life. How I ended up in a psychiatric ward at the age of 18 and the damaging and harmful situations that I have found myself in with relationships work and life as an adult. How I unsuccessfully used alcohol and other distractions instead of dealing with the emotions and feelings I retained from the experience . This JW podcast is my story but I hope it will give insight and strength to others on their journey.
