Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse

by

The statistics around domestic abuse are staggering: in the United States, one in every four women experiences severe domestic violence at some point in their lifetime. Sadly, studies show that the situation is no better within the church. With an estimated one-fourth of women living with abuse and violence, church leaders and biblical counselors need to have the resources to offer hope and help. Featuring Chris Moles, author of The Heart of Domestic Abuse, this pre-conference event will examine the roots of domestic abuse, teach how to address the heart of the abuser and offer comfort to those who suffer from the terror and harm caused by domestic violence. In this handout author Chris Moles will define domestic violence, explain the motivations and tactics of perpetrators and discuss the various manifestations of domestic violence including physical, sexual, emotional, economic and psychological abuse.
