Our Sacred Voices Podcast

Our Sacred Voices Podcast

by

A podcast where we’ll come together to open up and listen to each other’s stories about embracing our own voices and becoming empowered in who we are. Hosted by Enneagram coach, filmmaker, and writer Raven McKevlin.

In this episode, Raven talks with Sarah Rot about Hearing and Healing from the Voice of the Inner Critic.

Sarah Rot (she/her/hers) is a board-certified dance/movement therapist and licensed clinical professional counselor with a wealth of experience providing creative art therapy to clients presenting with a wide range of concerns. Her background in dance performance and teaching, coupled with her passion for helping others, led her to study and share the healing potential of movement. Sarah studied both dance and behavioral science at Western Michigan University and went on to receive her Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Columbia College Chicago. She now resides in Chicago, where she supervises other dance/movement therapists and works as the lead body/mind integration expert at Healing Embodied. Sarah has conducted research on potential power disparities in the therapeutic relationship, which is published in the American Journal of Dance Therapy. Sarah strives to emphasize the body as a vessel for expression, healing, and growth. Sarah aims to support others as they gain awareness of the mind/body connection and empower them in working towards a positive and reparative relationship with themselves.
