This is not a “therapy” podcast, in the sense you may think, just to throw that out there. While my wife, Deanna is in the profession, this podcast isn’t about giving advice. This podcast is birthed from the idea that communication between members of a couple is therapeutic in and of itself. My wife and I have been together some 15 years and have been blessed and honored with raising two wonderful and complex children. The bedrock of this family unit has always been communication. We have found that the simple of act of taking time to talk about anything, everything, or nothing at all increases our ability to be vulnerable, open, and genuine. This in turn deepens our levels of comfort and trust with one another. Ultimately, the simple act of ensuring we take time to sit and discuss any random thing from the least significant to a matter of utmost import grows our relationship. From time to time, we record these conversations and somewhat tailor them for an audience. We do this not because we are special, particularly witty, deep, or profound, but precisely because we do not see ourselves in those lights. We are just an average couple benefiting from a simple secret: Bonding with your significant other is fun! As we say, we are just a couple, with a couple kids, sneaking a couple minutes to entertain you, a couple times a month. Dig in! -Will
