You, me, and…

Welcome to our podcast! Jayson and I are in our first year of marriage and we decided to start a podcast. Our goal is to create a place where listeners learn about topics as we teach each other every week. Jayson and I hope to grow together in our marriage by learning topics that will add kindness, understanding, and love into the world. As a dear friend, Alec Richards, used to say – “Love and understand more.” Adriana Castillo graduated from Utah State University in 2019. She has a bachelors in Cultural Anthropology and a bachelors in Creative Writing English. Adriana currently works in Human Resources at a very large company. Adriana sometimes takes on “too much” as she practices the flue, watercolor, swims every day, and is writing her own book. Now she has started this podcast in order to spend more time with her hubby. Jayson Lassen has years of knowledge in mechanics. This last year he decided to quit his job as a diesel technician and pursue his true passions – music, mountain biking, and love. Jayson cares for all the critters in the Lassen household. Jayson and Adriana’s dog is in competitive frisbee and Jayson is his handler. Jayson started this podcast to show utmost support of his wife and to expand his knowledge. Jayson and Adriana Castillo Lassen married on October 31st, 2020. Their wedding was Tim Burton themed. Their friends once said that they should write a book – well they chose to make a podcast instead.

For our first podcast Jayson and I are discussing the phrase “intersectionality”. We go into a brief background of when this term was coined and why. Then we go into how we can add intersectionality into our lives. **Spoiler alert** I do mention parts of Ijeoma Oluo’s book, “So You Want to Talk About Race”. Jayson and I are learning along with our listeners and we want to know more! If you have something to add or question please let us know.
