Juan Vélez Court is a Certified Peer Specialist from Puerto Rico whose journey with mental health challenges began when he was six years old. Through treatment, support and a healthy road to recovery he’s become a mental health advocate, sharing his story around the nation with the goal of motivating others to seek help and comprehend that recovery is possible. In Happy to Fail, Vélez shares the serious, intriguing and embarrassing moments of his life that made him who he is today: A person that loves to cook, work and drink a strong cup of coffee, all while being aware there are many obstacles that exist for people who want to overcome their challenges and reach a new stage of life.
