The What, Where, Who, and Why of Bullying?

Bullying is a serious epidemic that has been going on for some time now. The spotlight is brightly shining on this issue. Bullying comes in many forms. It can be verbal, emotional, mental, or physical. There are no limitations on bullying. We are all susceptible to getting bullied. Bullying is an act of aggression towards another or a group. It can be through words (i.e. social media posts, letters, emails, texts) or actual physical violence. It can be an isolated attack, a threat, or group isolation.

There are three roles involved: The bully, the victim of bullying, and the witness/bystander. There is always something to be done. We must reach out and speak out to create change. Bullying can occur anywhere. It can take place at school, at home, in the workplace, in relationships, in families, in the community, or on the internet. In today’s society, cyber bullying is becoming more and more of a problem as we spend a great deal of our time online.

Bullying causes great distress in the lives of those involved. The signs are not always evident, so we must constantly be paying attention…and most of all, always be a friend. If we all play our part, we can gain control. Be kind and love big.

Support Bullies Keep Out by telling a friend

Season 2 begins with a horrific story of cyber bullying that went on for a year and a half. Please listen to this story. As an adult, I can tell you that sharing this for the first time, you can imagine what children and kids are going through. This is easy for nobody, but the fact that deaths are occurring day in and day out in this epidemic that is not getting enough attention or laws put in place, it is time to take more drastic measures. Tell and share stories, no matter how good or bad. We want both.

Reach out, support each other. Provide help lines. Raise awareness. Join our movement or any movement. Let’s reach lawmakers. Protest. So many things to do. Social media apps are not helping. They do nothing because they make money off of hate and bullying. It is an money making business to them. But good people are getting bullied to the point of leaving social media, taking their life, or having mental spirals and triggers that are causing damage that takes a LONG time to heal from. If anybody ever fully recovers completely.
