A monthly interview series from Dr. Shamard Charles that examines what’s beneath the surface—of the people and health conditions they experience. Speaking with medical experts, artists, entertainers, and everyday people, Dr. Charles seeks to uncover the truth behind the insidious changes to our mental and physical equilibrium that cause the body to revolt against itself. This podcast is an opportunity to reimagine, rediscover, and reshape your health—before it’s too late.

In 2017, after a year of intense partying, work-related stress, and isolation, Aleo Covi, a talented artist and software engineer, found himself homeless in LA. Hounded by intense delusions and hallucinations, he sought help. Today he shares his insights on his experience with schizophrenia, connections between schizophrenia and creative design, and the power of art and music to empower others who have mental illness.
