The Collector’s House

by

If you had to choose five things that represent and inspire you, what would they be? Welcome to The Collector’s House, the new weekly podcast from MATCHESFASHION.COM. Join Danielle Radojcin as she asks some of the creative industry’s finest talents to share the objects that have inspired them or bear special significance. Hear the stories they inspire from veteran New York designer Norma Kamali, to Google’s Suhair Khan and German artist Katharina Grosse. Over a career spanning 40 years, the acclaimed architect has come to define the practice of simple design using the highest quality materials, pioneering the luxury minimalist trend that has since become so widespread across the creative industries. His works include the Abbey of Our Lady the Nový Dvůr in the Czech Republic, the Cathay Pacific lounges at Chep Lak Kok airport in Hong Kong, an opera set for the dancer Wayne McGregor and many fashion stores around the world, including the celebrated Calvin Klein store in Manhattan, which revolutionised fashion retail. In 2010 there was a major retrospective of his work at London’s Design Museum. Danielle joins him in his studio at King’s Cross in London, where he shares memories from his career and talks about the effect of the pandemic on his work, as well as sharing the objects he’d choose to represent him in the cabinet at 5 Carlos Place.
