My guests and I tell stories of the Wisdom we were born into, how it shaped us and how absolutely *ANYONE* can upgrade the Wisdom they pass on the next generation… This ain’t yer paw-paw’s advice. This is Wisdom 2.0, baby… Updated and Upgraded for 2020… If you’ve ever said to yourself… “I want my kids to be happy.” “I want my kids to be better off than I am.” “I wish I knew that when I was young.” Then pull up a chair, my friend. This podcast is for you… Ricky Gervais joins us today to share his thoughts on the Wisdom he grew up within and how it shaped whom he’s become. Okay, that statement is a lie. Ricky Gervais is not on this podcast. I’ve been assured by his legal team, however, he remains enthusiastically engaged in the Wisdom of “the common bloke or wha-evah.” This episode is about Lying. There’s no getting around it: We are all untruthful at some point. Some more than others, of course, but whether it’s to spare someone’s feelings or get ourselves out of trouble, each of us has used this awesome super-power. But with great power comes great responsibility. Dr. Roy and I talk about the most common Wisdom on Lying and why it’s outdated. We compare traditional and modern Wisdom on Lying in an attempt to find at least one significant Truth, one Wisdom Upgrade, that anyone would be proud to pass down to their kids.
