The incomparable, the original overweight lover, the one and only Heavy D. Heavy started the group The Boyz in high school and was signed as the first signee to Andre Harrells’ label Uptown Records. Heavy D and The Boyz was a hip hop act that went pop but never left its roots. Heavy was one of the first hip hop acts to really make records for the ladies but kept coming with the hard rhymes.
