Does Jurassic Park (1993) contain insight into building a relationship with your mom? What does The Farewell (2019) say about navigating life, language, and identity when moving to a new country? What is a chosen family and what can Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) teach us about finding ours?
Join host Levi Baer -an equity trainer, Black nerd, and curious fellow- to hear what he and guests can discover about who we are and how we move through the world, using movies as the lens. Episodes feature guests that range from high school friends, to work colleagues, to board game buddies, and even Levi’s romantic partner. Each guest selects a film that’s been influential in their life, and after watching it, the two sit down for a conversation that varies between silly and serious, but is always insightful.
Please tune in if you share a love of psychology and sociology, and like to nerd out on what your favorite movies are really about.
Levi and Marcus watch The Wiz (1978) and redefine the word home and how it relates to community, empathy, and ultimately being true to oneself through music and culture.
