Growing up, my immigrant parents would always call me a “jook-sing” (竹升)—Cantonese slang for those ethnically Chinese but who were born and raised elsewhere. It’s typically used whenever we do something they find a bit odd, and yep, podcasting is probably one of those things.

So, welcome to First Generasian! This podcast is for the jook-sings and first gens around the world—the first generation Asian Americans, Canadians, Australians, you name it—who are navigating the ups and downs of adulthood. Every episode explores our unique perspectives on life, career, family, and friendships.
