This also makes it an important habitat for water birds. Since the lake fills with water in winter, a lot of flamingos come here to hibernate from November to March. There is a nature trail around the lake that leads to the Kamares aqueduct. At the Salt Lake View Point you have a perfect view of the salt lake. Also very easy to find via Google Maps. Even if I haven’t got a nice photo of the flamingos (my reflex camera is still on the way from Germany via DHL parcel …) there was already a beautiful sunset at this point.
