exTANt: sound history of the Santa Cruz tannery

exTANt is a collaboration between public historian Kathleen Aston and media artist Yulia Gilich. exTANt traces historical linkages between communities who lived and worked in the area throughout the centuries: local Indigenous peoples, former Salz Tannery workers, and the Tannery Art Center live/work artists. Through oral history interviews, archival materials, and poetic soundscapes, exTANt considers the impacts the site has had on the workers, residents, and environment. Learn more at extanttannery.com
