English and Scottish Language and Literature

The University of Glasgow offers an unrivalled range of scholarship and critical enquiry into English and Scottish language and literature. Engaging with English language from medieval times to the present day, and with English literature from the early modern period onwards, in 1971 we also established the first and only academic department in the UK dedicated exclusively to the teaching and research of Scottish literary tradition.
