The media are neither evil nor dangerous, says media theorist and artist Professor Bernd Scheffer. However, media users may prove to be both if they fail to realize two things: first, that reality and fiction are often almost indistinguishable; and second, it is essential to distinguish between reality and fictional, however difficult it may be.
