Emil and the Detectives

First published in Germany during the early 1930s, Emil and the Detectives tells the story of a young boy who leaves his small town and sets off on a journey that will change his life. The book was adapted by Carl Miller and stage at the National Theatre in December 2013, directed by Bijan Sheibani. This collection includes an introduction to the book, a look at the historical context of the book and an interview with the playwright and director.
