Education is the key to social and economic development. It paves the way for more just and sustainable societies that value knowledge, promote a culture of peace, celebrate diversity and defend human rights. However, despite recent progress towards Education for All – UNESCO’s top priority – millions of children, youth and adults still lack access to good quality education and the benefits it brings. A film about the 2006 Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in particular article 24 on education. Using footage from schools in Kenya, Finland and Turkey, it addresses the situation of children with disabilities worldwide and the importance of getting them into school. It also contains interviews and commentary from stakeholders and experts and some 50 educational resources such as toolkits and policy guidelines.
